FBNQuest Merchant Bank is seeking an accomplished and results-oriented Business Development Officer to join our dynamic team in Maitama, Abuja. This pivotal role focuses on identifying, cultivating, and securing new corporate client relationships, as well as deepening existing ones within our diverse service offerings. As a Business Development Officer, you will be instrumental in expanding our market presence and driving revenue growth by understanding the complex financial needs of corporate entities and positioning FBNQuest’s tailored solutions effectively. Key Responsibilities
- Identify and proactively pursue new business opportunities with corporate clients across various sectors.
- Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key corporate decision-makers and stakeholders.
- Conduct comprehensive financial needs analysis for corporate clients and propose suitable FBNQuest products and services.
- Prepare and present compelling proposals, pitches, and presentations to prospective and existing clients.
- Negotiate terms and close deals, ensuring alignment with company policies and client requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Corporate Finance, Asset Management, Debt Capital Markets) to deliver integrated solutions.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activities, and regulatory changes to identify new business opportunities and challenges.
- Achieve and exceed set sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) for revenue generation and client acquisition.
- Provide regular reports on sales activities, client pipeline, and market intelligence to management.
- Represent FBNQuest Merchant Bank at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in business development, sales, or relationship management within the financial services sector, with a focus on corporate clients.
- Demonstrated understanding of investment banking, asset management, and other financial products and services.
- Strong networking and client acquisition skills, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a target-driven environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
