Job Description

As a Business Development Manager at Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our market share and driving revenue growth within the Ebonyi State region. You will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, building strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, and managing the entire sales cycle from lead generation to closing deals. This role requires a proactive, results-oriented individual with a proven track record of success in business development and a deep understanding of the local market dynamics. You will be working closely with our regional team to implement effective sales strategies and achieve our ambitious growth targets. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that offers significant opportunities for professional development and career advancement within a well-established and reputable organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to achieve regional sales targets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and understand their needs.
  • Prepare and present compelling business proposals and presentations to potential clients.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals, ensuring profitable outcomes.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to after-sales support.
  • Track sales performance and provide regular reports to management.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and competitor activities.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in business development and sales, preferably within the FMCG industry.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and competitive landscape in Ebonyi State.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Results-oriented and highly motivated.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the region.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • MBA or other relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
  • Experience with CRM software.
  • Knowledge of local languages spoken in Ebonyi State.
