Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive building surveys, including pre-acquisition, condition, and defect analysis.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, and schedules of work.
- Advise clients on property acquisitions, maintenance strategies, and statutory compliance.
- Manage dilapidations assessments for landlords and tenants.
- Handle party wall matters and provide expert witness services when required.
- Oversee construction projects from design to completion, ensuring quality and adherence to budget.
- Carry out measured surveys and prepare accurate CAD drawings.
- Assess building pathology and recommend appropriate remedial works.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant building regulations and industry standards.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing exceptional service and clear communication.
Required Skills
- RICS accredited degree in Building Surveying or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience as a Building Surveyor.
- Proficiency in building pathology, construction technology, and repair methods.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation (e.g., Building Regulations, Party Wall Act).
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CAD software.

- MRICS chartership or working towards it.
- Experience with commercial and residential property portfolios in Scotland.
