  • Proven experience (post-academic or industrial) in bioinformatics analysis, particularly with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or R for data analysis and pipeline development.
  • Proficiency with the Linux/Unix command line environment and shell scripting.
  • Experience with common bioinformatics tools and databases (e.g., GATK, samtools, BEDTools, Ensembl, UCSC Genome Browser).
  • Solid understanding of statistical methods relevant to biological data analysis.
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postdoctoral experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and workflow management systems (e.g., Nextflow, Snakemake).
  • Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and their application to biological data.
  • Knowledge of human genetics, medical genomics, or clinical bioinformatics.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., CLIA, CAP, ISO 13485).
  • Track record of scientific publications or significant contributions to open-source bioinformatics projects.
