Career.supersecrets is thrilled to announce a unique opportunity for a dynamic and skilled Bartender to be part of the grand opening team for our brand-new, upscale hotel bar in the picturesque Kirehe, Eastern Province. As a founding member of our bar team, you will be instrumental in setting the standard for quality, efficiency, and guest engagement. You’ll work with a state-of-the-art bar setup, a curated selection of spirits, wines, and local craft beverages, and a supportive team dedicated to making our bar the talk of the town. Key Responsibilities
- Craft and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with precision and artistry, including classic cocktails, signature drinks, and custom creations.
- Engage with guests in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable manner, recommending drinks, taking orders, and ensuring an exceptional experience.
- Maintain an impeccably clean and organized bar area, adhering strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Manage inventory of bar supplies, spirits, and garnishes, including ordering, stocking, and rotating products to minimize waste.
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems, handle cash and card transactions accurately, and reconcile daily sales.
- Assist in the development of new cocktail menus and beverage offerings, incorporating local ingredients and current trends.
- Uphold responsible alcohol service practices, verifying age and monitoring guest consumption.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other hotel departments to ensure seamless service.
- Provide training and mentorship to new bar staff as the team grows, fostering a positive work environment.
- Resolve guest complaints and issues promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Bartender, preferably in a hotel or upscale restaurant setting.
- In-depth knowledge of spirits, wines, beers, and classic cocktail recipes.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Kinyarwanda or French is a plus.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 kg.
- Basic math skills and experience with POS systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification from a recognized bartending school or culinary institute.
- Experience with new bar openings or menu development.
- Knowledge of local Rwandan beverages and mixology trends.
