Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide range of coffee, tea, and other non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and guest preferences, ensuring consistent quality.
- Operate and maintain all café equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and point-of-sale systems, following safety and hygiene protocols.
- Maintain the cleanliness and impeccable organization of the coffee bar, work areas, and seating areas throughout your shift.
- Engage with guests in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner, taking orders accurately and processing payments with precision.
- Demonstrate strong product knowledge, confidently advising guests on menu options, coffee origins, and special offerings.
- Perform intricate latte art and other presentation techniques to enhance the visual appeal of all beverages served.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, pastries, and other supplies, reporting replenishment needs to management promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and regulations pertinent to food and beverage service.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately, reconciling sales at the end of your shift.
- Actively contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, assisting other F&B staff as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Uphold the hotel's brand standards for guest service and experience at all times.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Barista, with a minimum of 1 year, preferably in a hotel or high-volume café setting.
- Excellent knowledge of various coffee preparation methods, coffee types, and espresso machine operation.
- Proficiency in latte art techniques and beverage presentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with guests.
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain composure in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- A genuine customer-centric approach with a pleasant, professional, and enthusiastic demeanor.
- Basic mathematical skills for accurate order taking and cash handling.
- Meticulous attention to detail regarding beverage quality, presentation, and cleanliness standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification from a recognized barista training program or culinary school.
- Experience with inventory management and stock ordering procedures.
