Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and take orders, providing menu recommendations as needed.
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks (espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, etc.), teas, and other beverages according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment, ensuring they are clean and in excellent working order.
- Handle cash and process payments accurately using a POS system.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the counter area, seating area, and back-of-house.
- Monitor and replenish coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other ingredients, informing management of low stock levels.
- Assist with light food preparation and presentation, such as warming pastries or assembling simple snacks.
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times.
- Foster a positive and welcoming environment for all customers and team members.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar customer service role.
- Demonstrable knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment operation.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Basic math skills for cash handling.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with various brewing methods and latte art techniques.
- Food handler's permit or ability to obtain one.
- Experience with POS systems and inventory management.
- Ability to speak multiple local languages is a plus.
