Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and other beverages following established recipes and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment, ensuring cleanliness and optimal performance.
- Provide exceptional customer service, taking orders accurately, handling payments, and resolving customer inquiries with a positive attitude.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the coffee bar, seating areas, and back-of-house.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies, assisting with stock rotation and ordering as needed.
- Educate customers on menu items, coffee origins, and brewing methods to enhance their experience.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with the café team to ensure smooth operations and a cohesive work environment.
- Handle cash and electronic transactions accurately and efficiently.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Barista, preferably for at least 1 year.
- In-depth knowledge of coffee preparation techniques (espresso, latte art, pour-over, etc.).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in barista training or hospitality.
- Familiarity with various coffee beans and roasting profiles.
- Experience with inventory management and stock rotation.
- Multilingual abilities (e.g., ability to converse in Yoruba in addition to English).
