Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, smoothies, and other beverages according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other brewing equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functionality.
- Provide exceptional customer service, taking orders accurately, handling payments, and engaging with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the coffee bar, equipment, and customer seating areas.
- Monitor inventory levels for coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies, and assist with restocking as needed.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and standards.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures of the café, including cash handling and reconciliation.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations and a positive working environment.
- Educate customers on menu items, coffee origins, and brewing methods when appropriate.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience as a Barista or in a similar café setting.
- Proficiency in operating espresso machines and grinders.
- Strong knowledge of various coffee preparations (espresso, latte art, pour-over, etc.).
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic math skills for handling cash and making change.
- Strong commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Barista training or relevant culinary arts.
- Experience with specialty coffee preparation techniques.
