We are seeking a highly enthusiastic and skilled Bar Attendant to join a prestigious hotel lounge team in Sangotedo, Lekki. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, mocktails, wines, beers, and spirits, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Engage with guests in a friendly, professional, and attentive manner, taking orders accurately, offering recommendations, and answering questions about menu items.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area, including glassware, ingredients, garnishes, and supplies, ensuring adherence to hygiene standards.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions efficiently and accurately using a Point of Sale (POS) system, reconciling daily sales.
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and ensure responsible service, strictly adhering to legal age requirements and company policies.
- Assist in managing inventory, including receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, rotating products, and reporting low stock levels to management.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and other hotel departments to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, ensuring a safe and clean working environment for both staff and guests.
- Stay informed about new drink recipes, spirits, bar trends, and special promotions to continuously enhance the guest experience.
- Resolve guest complaints and issues promptly and professionally, escalating complex situations to management when necessary to ensure guest retention and satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 1 year) as a Bar Attendant or Bartender, preferably in a hotel, upscale restaurant, or lounge setting.
- Excellent knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer varieties.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with guests.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Exceptional customer service and guest relations abilities.
- Proficiency in basic math and experience handling cash and POS systems.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 kg.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by a hotel operation.
- Must be at least 18 years old to serve alcoholic beverages.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification from a recognized bartending school or hospitality program.
- Demonstrated knowledge of local and international beverage trends and mixology techniques.
- Previous experience with inventory management software or systems.
- Fluency in an additional language (e.g., French, Yoruba) is a plus.
- Proactive attitude, a willingness to learn, and adaptability to evolving service standards.
