Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and cashing checks.
- Maintain a balanced cash drawer and reconcile it at the end of each shift, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and building rapport with clients.
- Identify customer needs and cross-sell appropriate bank products and services, referring complex needs to relevant departments.
- Adhere strictly to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines, including anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) protocols.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding customer accounts and transactions.
- Assist customers with account opening and other banking services as required.
- Educate customers on various digital banking channels and self-service options.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth branch operations and a cohesive team environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance banking knowledge and skills.
Required Skills
- Minimum of OND/HND/B.Sc. in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Proven ability to handle cash accurately and efficiently.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office Suite).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (at least 1 year) in a banking, retail, or customer service role with cash handling responsibilities.
- Knowledge of banking products, services, and operational procedures.
- Familiarity with banking software and core banking systems.
- Ability to speak local languages relevant to the Aba community.
