MicroKing Finance is seeking a dedicated Bank Loan Officer (Microfinance) to join our growing team in Harare. This pivotal role involves identifying, assessing, and cultivating relationships with potential and existing clients seeking microfinance loans. You will be responsible for the entire loan lifecycle, from initial client outreach and application processing to credit assessment, disbursement, and effective portfolio management. Your daily activities will include conducting thorough due diligence, analyzing financial statements, ensuring compliance with lending policies, and actively monitoring loan performance to minimize risk and maximize portfolio health. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct proactive client outreach to identify potential borrowers in target markets.
- Guide clients through the loan application process, ensuring all required documentation is collected accurately and completely.
- Perform thorough credit analysis, including assessment of business plans, cash flows, and collateral.
- Prepare detailed loan proposals and present them to the credit committee for approval.
- Ensure strict adherence to MicroKing Finance's lending policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate loan disbursement and ensure clients understand their repayment terms and obligations.
- Manage an assigned loan portfolio, actively monitoring repayment schedules and proactively addressing potential delinquencies.
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients through regular communication and field visits.
- Provide financial literacy and business advisory support to clients where appropriate.
- Contribute to the achievement of individual and team lending targets and portfolio quality objectives.
- Prepare regular reports on loan portfolio performance, client interactions, and market trends.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Business Studies, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in microfinance, banking, or a related lending environment
- Proven track record in credit analysis, loan origination, and portfolio management
- Strong understanding of microfinance principles and products
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- High level of integrity and ethical conduct
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-graduate qualification in Finance or Business
- Experience with a core banking system or loan management software
- Fluency in local indigenous languages (e.g., Shona, Ndebele) is an added advantage
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within assigned areas
