Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Pastry Chef and bakers with all stages of baking, including accurate weighing and mixing of ingredients.
- Prepare various doughs, batters, fillings, and icings for breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts.
- Operate and maintain baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, proofers, and other kitchen machinery safely.
- Shape and form various bread types, rolls, and pastry items according to hotel standards.
- Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to recipes.
- Decorate and finish cakes, tarts, and other confectionery items with precision and artistic flair.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment, including diligent dishwashing, workstation sanitization, and equipment cleaning.
- Assist with inventory management, including proper storage and rotation of ingredients to minimize waste.
- Strictly adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
- Support other kitchen sections as needed during peak operational periods.
- Contribute to new recipe development and menu innovations under supervision.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of baking principles, ingredients, and kitchen tools.
