Job Description

Join CFAO Motors Mozambique as an Automotive Technician Instructor and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our technical workforce. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Automotive Technician Instructor to design, deliver, and assess comprehensive training programs for both new recruits and existing technicians within our organization.

This role is crucial for maintaining our high standards of service excellence and ensuring our team is proficient in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a diverse range of modern vehicles. You will be responsible for translating complex technical information into accessible and engaging training modules, utilizing a blend of theoretical instruction, practical demonstrations, and hands-on exercises in our state-of-the-art workshop facilities. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and deliver comprehensive automotive technical training programs (theory and practical) for various vehicle systems, including engine management, electrical systems, braking, suspension, and air conditioning.
  • Conduct hands-on training sessions in a workshop environment, demonstrating proper diagnostic, repair, and maintenance procedures.
  • Assess technician competency through written exams, practical assessments, and performance evaluations.
  • Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to technicians, guiding their professional development.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new vehicle technologies, diagnostic tools, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Prepare training materials, including presentations, manuals, job aids, and assessment tools.
  • Manage and maintain training equipment, tools, and vehicles, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Collaborate with service managers and technical teams to identify training needs and tailor programs accordingly.
  • Track and report on training outcomes and technician performance improvements.

Required Skills

  • Advanced technical knowledge of automotive systems (mechanical, electrical, electronic)
  • Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic equipment and specialized tools
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (Portuguese and English)
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and explain complex technical concepts clearly
  • Curriculum development and instructional design experience
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Safety-conscious approach to workshop operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant Vocational/Technical Degree or Diploma in Automotive Technology or Engineering.
  • Certification from recognized automotive manufacturers (e.g., Toyota, Ford, Suzuki).
  • Previous experience as an Automotive Technician Instructor or Trainer.
  • Experience with e-learning platforms and blended learning methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
