Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections and accurately diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using various diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Execute routine maintenance services including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, filter replacements, and brake inspections.
- Repair or replace faulty components such as brakes, suspension parts, exhaust systems, belts, hoses, and other mechanical or electrical parts.
- Conduct preventative maintenance according to manufacturer specifications and Jiffy Lube standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding vehicle status, repair needs, and maintenance recommendations.
- Document all services performed, parts used, and hours worked accurately and thoroughly.
- Continuously learn and adapt to new automotive technologies and repair techniques through training and self-study.
- Assist in maintaining shop equipment and tools in proper working condition.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as an Auto Mechanic or Automotive Service Technician.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various automotive systems (engine, transmission, brakes, steering, suspension, electrical).
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Ability to operate diagnostic equipment and specialized tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE certifications (e.g., A1-A8, L1) are highly preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited automotive technology program or equivalent technical training.
- Experience with various vehicle makes and models.
- Customer service experience in an automotive setting.
