Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automotive Mechanic to join our team in San Diego. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of automotive systems, a proven track record of successful repairs, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. This position involves diagnosing and repairing a wide range of automotive issues, from routine maintenance to complex repairs, while adhering to all safety regulations and shop procedures. You will work closely with our service advisors to ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded. You will also maintain a clean and organized work area and participate in ongoing training opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical components.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify and troubleshoot vehicle problems.
- Order and maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and shop procedures.
Required Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance procedures.
- Proficient in using diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to perform a wide range of automotive repairs.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with a variety of vehicle makes and models
