Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Automotive Engineer to join our Driveline Product Development team in Novi, Michigan. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design, development, and testing of advanced driveline systems that power the vehicles of tomorrow. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct design, analysis, simulation, and testing of driveline components and systems.
- Develop and validate engineering specifications, DVP&R, and FMEA documents.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure product manufacturability and performance.
- Perform root cause analysis for design and manufacturing issues and implement effective solutions.
- Support prototype builds, testing, and validation activities, including data acquisition and analysis.
- Prepare and present technical reports, project status, and design reviews to stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and competitive products to inform future product development.
- Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards and regulations.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in automotive product development, specifically with driveline, powertrain, or chassis systems.
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA V5/V6, NX).
- Experience with FEA tools (e.g., Ansys, Abaqus) for stress and durability analysis.
- Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and materials.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering.
- Experience with vehicle dynamics and simulation software.
- Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, and other automotive quality standards.
- Proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Prior experience with electric vehicle (EV) driveline components.
