Job Description
We are actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Associate Veterinarian to join our dynamic team at Goodyear Animal Hospital & Emergency Center. This is an exceptional opportunity for a DVM eager to practice high-quality medicine in a supportive, fast-paced, and engaging environment. As an Associate Veterinarian, you will be instrumental in diagnosing and treating a diverse range of animal health conditions, performing routine check-ups, conducting surgical procedures, and providing emergency care when needed. You will manage a varied caseload, from wellness exams and vaccinations to complex internal medicine cases and critical care interventions, utilizing our cutting-edge diagnostic and treatment modalities including digital radiography, ultrasound, and an in-house laboratory. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and diagnose illnesses and injuries.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including medical, surgical, and dental procedures.
- Perform various surgical procedures, including spays, neuters, and soft tissue surgeries.
- Interpret diagnostic tests, such as radiographs, ultrasounds, and laboratory results.
- Administer vaccinations and preventative care protocols.
- Provide emergency and critical care services as needed.
- Educate pet owners on animal health, nutrition, behavior, and preventative medicine.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
- Collaborate effectively with veterinary technicians, assistants, and other support staff.
- Participate in continuing education to stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited university.
- Current and unrestricted Arizona veterinary license, or eligibility to obtain one.
- DEA license (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as a practicing veterinarian (excluding internship).
- Proficiency in general medicine, surgery, and dentistry.
- Exceptional diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective client and team interaction.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency and general practice setting.
- Compassionate, empathetic, and professional demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced diagnostic imaging (e.g., advanced ultrasound).
- Special interest or experience in a specific area of veterinary medicine (e.g., exotics, ophthalmology, internal medicine).
- Experience mentoring junior staff or students.
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus, given the diverse community.
