Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of daily kitchen operations, including meal preparation, cooking, and plating.
- Ensure all food items are prepared to the restaurant's standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering strictly to food safety regulations and health codes.
- Monitor and manage inventory of ingredients, reporting stock levels and assisting with ordering to minimize waste.
- Prepare various food items according to recipes and specific instructions from the Head Chef.
- Assist in the development and introduction of new menu items and culinary techniques.
- Contribute to a positive and efficient kitchen workflow, fostering teamwork and clear communication.
- Handle kitchen equipment and tools safely and responsibly, reporting any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment (minimum 18 months).
- Strong foundational knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP principles are a plus).
- Basic knife skills and proficiency with common kitchen equipment.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized institution.
