Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the aquaculture farm, including breeding, feeding, harvesting, and processing.
- Develop and implement comprehensive aquaculture production plans and schedules.
- Manage hatchery operations, larval rearing, and juvenile grow-out stages.
- Monitor water quality parameters and implement corrective measures as needed to maintain optimal conditions.
- Develop and enforce strict biosecurity protocols and disease prevention strategies.
- Manage feed inventories, optimize feeding regimes, and analyze feed conversion ratios for efficiency.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor farm staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to safety standards.
- Maintain accurate production records, inventory logs, and comprehensive financial reports.
- Identify and implement innovative aquaculture technologies and sustainable farming practices.
- Ensure full compliance with local and international environmental regulations and industry best practices.
- Manage equipment maintenance, repair schedules, and procurement of necessary farm supplies.
- Collaborate effectively with sales and marketing teams to ensure product quality and market readiness.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in aquaculture farm management or a similar senior role.
- Strong knowledge of fish biology, water chemistry, aquatic ecosystems, and nutrition.
- Expertise in hatchery management, larval rearing, and grow-out systems for various aquatic species.
- Proficiency in biosecurity and disease management protocols, including identification and treatment.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.
