Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough screening of passengers and their carry-on/checked baggage using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other advanced screening technologies.
- Perform physical pat-down searches when necessary, following established protocols and maintaining professionalism.
- Monitor security checkpoints, ensuring only authorized personnel and passengers access restricted areas.
- Patrol assigned areas of the airport, including terminals, concourses, and perimeter fences, to deter and detect security breaches.
- Respond effectively and appropriately to alarms, security incidents, and emergency situations, following established procedures.
- Enforce airport and federal security regulations, educating passengers on prohibited items and screening procedures.
- Maintain detailed records and logs of security activities, incidents, and observations.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with passengers, airport staff, and law enforcement personnel.
- Assist passengers with questions and provide directions while maintaining a security-focused demeanor.
- Undergo continuous training and certification renewals as required by federal regulations and company policy.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances (e.g., SIDA badge)
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform duties requiring physical exertion
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
