Key Responsibilities
- Identify and assess new agri-business development opportunities within the Limpopo province, with a focus on Mokopane and surrounding areas.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with farmers, local communities, agricultural cooperatives, and key industry stakeholders.
- Conduct market research and feasibility studies to support new product development and market entry strategies.
- Provide technical advice and support to farmers on best agricultural practices, crop management, and value chain optimization.
- Prepare detailed business proposals, financial projections, and reports for new projects and initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of agri-business development projects, ensuring targets are met and challenges are addressed.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., agronomy, marketing, logistics) to ensure seamless project execution.
- Represent ZZ2 at industry events, workshops, and stakeholder meetings.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of sustainable agriculture and community upliftment programs.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics, Agri-business Management, Agronomy, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in agri-business development, agricultural project management, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of agricultural value chains, market dynamics, and rural development challenges in South Africa.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the Limpopo province.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-graduate qualification in Agri-business or a related discipline.
- Experience with sustainable farming practices and organic agriculture.
- Fluency in local indigenous languages (e.g., Sepedi, Xitsonga, Tshivenda).
- Proven track record of successfully securing funding or partnerships for agricultural projects.
