Key Responsibilities
- Perform robust actuarial valuations of life and pension liabilities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory standards (e.g., Solvency II, IFRS).
- Develop, maintain, and enhance complex actuarial models and tools, ensuring their accuracy, efficiency, and fitness for purpose.
- Contribute to the analysis and interpretation of financial results, providing insightful commentary and recommendations to senior management.
- Support the product development process by conducting actuarial pricing, profitability analysis, and risk assessments for new and existing products.
- Collaborate with risk management teams to identify, assess, and monitor actuarial risks, contributing to the development of effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Prepare comprehensive actuarial reports and presentations for internal stakeholders, external auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging actuarial methodologies, applying best practices within the team.
- Mentor junior actuaries and contribute to the continuous professional development of the actuarial team.
Required Skills
- Qualified Actuary (FIA/FFA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.
- Strong understanding of UK life and pensions market and regulatory environment (e.g., Solvency II).
- Proven experience in actuarial valuation, financial reporting, and model development.
- Advanced proficiency in actuarial software (e.g., Prophet, MoSes, R, Python) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under pressure.
