Job Description
Blackbaud is seeking a highly skilled and motivated ACF Developer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom solutions using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) within the WordPress ecosystem. You will work closely with other developers, designers, and project managers to deliver high-quality, scalable, and user-friendly applications. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of PHP, WordPress development, and ACF, coupled with excellent problem-solving and communication skills. You’ll be a key contributor in shaping the user experience for our clients’ critical applications and enhancing the performance of our internal platforms. This role offers an opportunity to significantly contribute to the success of mission-driven organizations while enjoying the flexibility of a remote work environment. This role requires you to be a self-starter with a strong initiative and capable of both independent and collaborative work. The ideal candidate will have a proactive attitude, is detailed-oriented and possess the ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain custom ACF fields and field groups for various WordPress projects.
- Collaborate with designers and developers to implement user interface and user experience (UI/UX) design specifications.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Troubleshoot and debug existing ACF functionality.
- Contribute to the improvement of our development processes and standards.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Work effectively within a team environment, collaborating remotely.
- Maintain awareness of latest ACF and WordPress best practices.
Required Skills
- Advanced knowledge of Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
- Proficient in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Strong understanding of WordPress development best practices
- Experience with Git version control
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
- Experience working with REST APIs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with other WordPress plugins and themes
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Experience working with headless WordPress implementations
