Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Python Developer for Data Science to join our innovative team in Amsterdam. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in developing, optimizing, and deploying robust Python-based solutions for our diverse data science initiatives. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and deploy production-grade Python code for data science models and applications.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to optimize existing algorithms and implement new ones for performance and scalability.
  • Design and build robust data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and feature engineering.
  • Ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices through code reviews and documentation.
  • Contribute to the MLOps framework by assisting in the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of machine learning models.
  • Troubleshoot and debug data science applications and infrastructure.
  • Research and integrate new data science tools and technologies to improve efficiency and capabilities.
  • Communicate technical concepts and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Python programming, including experience with object-oriented design and development.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
  • Experience with Python data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, SciPy).
  • Familiarity with SQL and experience working with relational databases.
  • Solid understanding of version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Ability to write clean, well-tested, and documented code.
  • Experience with building and maintaining data pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services.
  • Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Experience with MLOps practices and tools.
  • Understanding of geospatial data and related libraries (e.g., GeoPandas, Shapely).
  • Prior experience in a similar role within a technology-driven environment.
