Job Description

Orkla Latvija is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Supply Chain Manager to lead and optimize our end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring seamless flow from raw material sourcing to final product delivery. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing procurement, logistics, warehousing, and distribution across our diverse portfolio of cherished brands like Laima, Selga, and Spilva. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and implementing cutting-edge best practices within our fast-paced food production environment. You will leverage advanced analytics and technology to enhance supply chain visibility, responsiveness, and resilience, ensuring that Orkla Latvija consistently meets customer demands with high-quality products.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team of supply chain professionals, fostering their growth and collaboration. You will build and nurture strong relationships with both internal stakeholders across production, sales, and finance, as well as external partners including suppliers and third-party logistics providers. A key aspect of your role will involve meticulous inventory management, risk mitigation, and ensuring strict compliance with all industry regulations and Orkla’s stringent quality standards. We are looking for a results-oriented professional with a proven track record in supply chain leadership, particularly within the FMCG or food manufacturing sectors. Your strategic vision, combined with your hands-on approach to problem-solving and process optimization, will be vital in contributing directly to Orkla Latvija’s strategic growth and market leadership in the Baltics and beyond. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement robust supply chain strategies aligned with Orkla Latvija's business objectives and market demands.
  • Manage and optimize all facets of the supply chain, including strategic planning, procurement, inbound/outbound logistics, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the supply chain team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high performance.
  • Negotiate and manage relationships with key suppliers, third-party logistics (3PL) providers, and other external partners to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and service reliability.
  • Implement and oversee advanced inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize obsolescence, reduce working capital, and ensure consistent product availability.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across the entire supply chain, identify areas for improvement, and implement data-driven corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all relevant food safety regulations, quality standards, customs procedures, and company policies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in processes, systems, and technology to enhance overall supply chain efficiency, resilience, and adaptability.
  • Collaborate closely with production, sales, marketing, finance, and R&D departments to ensure seamless operational alignment and support new product introductions.
  • Develop and manage the supply chain budget, identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality or product integrity.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, preferably within the FMCG or food manufacturing industry.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities, with experience in developing and motivating a high-performing team.
  • Exceptional negotiation and vendor management skills, with a track record of building strong supplier relationships.
  • Proficiency in modern supply chain planning and inventory management software (e.g., ERP systems like SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with an aptitude for data-driven decision-making.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Deep understanding of logistics, warehousing, distribution processes, and international trade principles.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certifications in supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM).
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Latvian and/or Russian languages.
  • Familiarity with cold chain logistics and perishable goods management.
  • Experience working in a multinational corporate environment and managing cross-functional projects.
