Key Responsibilities
- Operate light trucks (e.g., vans, pick-up trucks) safely and efficiently for the transportation of goods within Abuja, FCT, and surrounding areas.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring all mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify cargo against delivery manifest before and after each delivery, reporting any discrepancies immediately.
- Follow designated routes and schedules, adapting to changes as necessary while maintaining timely deliveries.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents encountered.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with dispatch, clients, and other team members.
- Keep the truck clean, tidy, and in good operating condition.
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance checks and report any major mechanical issues promptly.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class G or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of professional light truck driving experience
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja's road networks and traffic regulations
- Strong understanding of vehicle safety and maintenance procedures
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 25kg)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of responsibility and reliability
