Career.supersecrets is actively seeking a diligent and vigilant Night Shift Retail Security Officer to join our client’s team in Gakenke, Northern Province. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the retail premises, assets, staff, and customers during overnight hours. As a Night Shift Retail Security Officer, you will be the first line of defense against potential threats, maintaining a secure and orderly environment, and upholding the integrity of operations when the store is closed to the public. This position requires exceptional observational skills, a proactive approach to potential security breaches, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively to any incidents that may arise. You will conduct regular patrols, monitor surveillance systems, control access to the premises, and ensure all security protocols are strictly followed. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular internal and external patrols of the retail premises to deter theft, vandalism, and other illicit activities.
- Monitor CCTV surveillance systems diligently for suspicious activity, unauthorized access, or potential security threats.
- Control access points to the facility, ensuring only authorized personnel or vehicles enter the premises during night hours.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, or security incidents, following established procedures.
- Complete comprehensive daily logs and incident reports detailing observations, activities, and any irregularities encountered.
- Ensure all doors, windows, and gates are securely locked and unlocked according to operational schedules.
- Liaise with local law enforcement or emergency services as required during critical incidents.
- Enforce company security policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting authorized personnel with inquiries and directions while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance security knowledge and skills.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in security, preferably in a retail or commercial setting.
- Strong observational and surveillance skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgments under pressure.
- Physical fitness to perform duties including prolonged standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
- Basic knowledge of security procedures, emergency response, and incident reporting.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid security guard license or certification (if applicable in Rwanda).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience with CCTV monitoring and alarm systems.
- Prior experience working night shifts.
