Key Responsibilities
- Assist truck drivers with the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring items are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Properly secure cargo using ropes, straps, and other equipment to prevent shifting during transit.
- Verify quantities and types of goods against manifest or delivery notes, reporting discrepancies immediately.
- Help navigate and provide directions to drivers, especially in unfamiliar routes or challenging areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the truck cabin and cargo area.
- Perform routine checks on the vehicle before and after trips, reporting any issues to the driver or supervisor.
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance tasks as required (e.g., checking tire pressure, fluid levels).
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, particularly regarding lifting, handling, and road safety.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatchers, and clients to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Assist in the proper disposal of waste materials and packaging post-delivery.
