Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport goods to various destinations within Kirehe and surrounding areas.
- Plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure timely and cost-effective operations.
- Verify accuracy of delivery contents against shipping documents and manifest.
- Load and unload items, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods to prevent damage during transit.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers, providing excellent service and collecting signatures or payments as required.
- Maintain clear and constant communication with dispatch regarding delivery status, potential delays, and any issues encountered on the road.
- Perform routine vehicle checks and basic maintenance (e.g., fuel, tire pressure, oil levels) to ensure roadworthiness and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company safety protocols.
- Handle all delivery documentation accurately, including proof of delivery receipts, invoices, and return forms.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as sorting and organizing packages when necessary.
Required Skills
- Valid Rwandan driving license (Category B minimum).
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar logistics role (minimum 12 months).
- Excellent knowledge of Kirehe district and surrounding road networks and geographical areas.
- Strong time management, organizational, and route planning skills.
- Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights (up to 25kg) and perform physical tasks.
- Proficiency in using GPS devices, smartphone navigation apps, and communication tools.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a polite and professional demeanor.
