Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small group academic support to students in various subjects (e.g., Kinyarwanda, English, Math, Science).
- Assist students with homework completion and understanding of school assignments.
- Help lead tutors in preparing and organizing lesson materials, activities, and learning resources.
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and respectful learning environment for all students.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to lead tutors and program coordinators.
- Engage students in educational games and activities to reinforce learning concepts.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and participation.
- Communicate effectively with lead tutors regarding student behavior, academic needs, and program updates.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during program hours.
- Assist with light administrative tasks as needed to ensure smooth program operation.
Required Skills
- Fluent in Kinyarwanda and English (oral and written).
- Strong foundational knowledge in core subjects (Math, Kinyarwanda, English) up to primary school level.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable and punctual.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or holding a diploma/degree in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational, tutoring, or childcare setting.
- Familiarity with the Rwandan education curriculum.
- Basic knowledge of child development principles.
- First Aid certification is a plus.
