Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain company vehicles (vans, trucks, etc.) as assigned.
- Transport goods efficiently and punctually to various destinations within Lagos and nearby regions.
- Conduct daily pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they are roadworthy.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
- Assist with loading and unloading of goods when necessary, ensuring cargo safety.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or issues.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously to clients and the public.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or delays promptly to management.
- Ensure all delivery documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class G or E as applicable for commercial vehicles)
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable professional driving experience
- Excellent knowledge of Lagos road networks, including Festac Town and Amuwo Odofin
- Strong understanding and practice of defensive driving techniques
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshooting
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and responsibility
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks and prolonged driving
Preferred Qualifications
- SSCE/GCE or equivalent educational qualification
- Trade Test Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics or related field
