Key Responsibilities
- Host live and pre-recorded radio programs with engaging, charismatic, and professional delivery.
- Develop, research, and curate compelling content, topics, and interview questions for daily shows.
- Conduct insightful and challenging interviews with guests, experts, and public figures.
- Interact dynamically with listeners through calls, social media, and other digital platforms, fostering community engagement.
- Operate broadcast studio equipment and software proficiently, ensuring smooth transitions and high-quality sound production.
- Collaborate closely with producers, editors, and technical staff to plan and execute program segments and achieve broadcast objectives.
- Contribute actively to program strategy and content development meetings, offering creative ideas and innovative approaches.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current events, social trends, popular culture, and audience demographics relevant to the target listenership.
- Adhere strictly to WDR's editorial guidelines, ethical standards, and all legal requirements for broadcasting.
- Represent WDR professionally at public events, promotional activities, and community engagements as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Radio Presenter, ideally within a major broadcasting environment (minimum 3 years).
- Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills with a clear, articulate, and engaging voice.
- Fluency in German (native or near-native level) is essential for on-air communication in Germany.
- Strong improvisation skills and the ability to think quickly, respond appropriately, and maintain composure on-air.
- Excellent research, interviewing, and journalistic skills.
