Career.supersecrets is seeking an experienced and dedicated Laundry Supervisor to join the housekeeping team of a prestigious hotel located in Tin Can Island, Apapa. This pivotal role involves overseeing all laundry operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and efficiency for all hotel linen, uniforms, and guest laundry. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of laundry staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
- Oversee the washing, drying, pressing, folding, and distribution of all hotel linen, towels, guest laundry, and staff uniforms.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all items are clean, stain-free, and in good repair before distribution.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of linen, detergents, chemicals, and other laundry supplies, initiating requisitions as needed.
- Operate and maintain laundry equipment, including industrial washers, dryers, and ironers, performing minor repairs or arranging for professional servicing.
- Train new laundry attendants on proper operating procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
- Develop and maintain schedules for staff, ensuring adequate coverage for all operational hours.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and hotel policies, promoting a safe working environment.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing linen for damage or wear, coordinating with management for replacement or repair.
- Maintain accurate records of laundry expenses, inventory, and staff hours.
- Collaborate with the Housekeeping Manager to optimize laundry operations and improve efficiency.
- Handle guest requests and complaints regarding laundry services promptly and professionally.
- Ensure proper segregation and handling of different types of linen and garments.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Laundry Supervisor or similar role, preferably in a hotel setting.
- Strong knowledge of laundry operations, equipment, chemicals, and textile care.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and train staff.
