Career.supersecrets is seeking a dedicated Logistics & Supply Chain Operations Assistant to join our dynamic team in Southampton. In this multifaceted role, you will be instrumental in supporting the seamless movement of goods, from coordinating shipments and managing inventory to assisting with documentation and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across various aspects of the supply chain, working closely with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including scheduling, tracking, and communication with carriers and clients.
  • Assist with inventory management, ensuring accurate stock levels and efficient warehouse organization.
  • Prepare and process shipping documentation, customs declarations, and other necessary paperwork for domestic and international freight.
  • Monitor order fulfillment processes, identifying potential delays and implementing solutions to maintain schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, and internal teams regarding logistics operations and status updates.
  • Support the resolution of any logistical issues or discrepancies, such as damaged goods, lost shipments, or delivery delays.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant transportation laws, customs regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases related to all logistics activities.
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction within the supply chain.
  • Perform general administrative duties to support the logistics department as required.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a logistics, warehouse, or administrative support role (at least 12 months).
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Basic understanding of supply chain principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A-Levels or equivalent vocational qualification in Business, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Experience with logistics software or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Knowledge of international shipping procedures and customs requirements.
  • Forklift operation certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Full UK driving licence.
