This pivotal role involves executing critical logistics and delivery operations using a company-provided vehicle. You will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of documents, personnel, and other essential items across various locations within Abuja and occasionally beyond, ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate company vehicles for the transportation of goods, documents, and personnel as required.
- Plan and execute optimal routes for timely deliveries and pickups, considering traffic and road conditions.
- Maintain the company vehicle in excellent working condition, performing routine checks (e.g., fuel, oil, tires) and ensuring cleanliness.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or incidents immediately to the supervisor.
- Strictly adhere to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
- Assist with loading and unloading items, ensuring their safe handling and security during transit.
- Exhibit professional conduct and provide courteous service to clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules and other operational deadlines.
- Be flexible and adaptable to changing delivery schedules and ad-hoc requests.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class G/E and above)
- Proven experience as a professional driver in a logistics or corporate setting
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja road networks and traffic regulations
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety checks
- Ability to read and follow maps and GPS directions accurately
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of punctuality, reliability, and responsibility
- Ability to lift and carry packages as required
- Clean driving record with no major violations
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of SSCE/WASSCE qualification
- Previous experience with a logistics company or an organization requiring extensive delivery services
- Defensive driving certification or equivalent training
- Familiarity with using navigation apps and communication devices for logistics coordination
