Key Responsibilities
- Accurately take food and beverage orders, ensuring all special requests and dietary restrictions are clearly communicated to the kitchen.
- Deliver food and beverages to guest rooms or dining areas promptly and courteously, ensuring presentation and temperature are optimal.
- Set up and clear dining tables, ensuring cleanliness and proper arrangement according to establishment standards.
- Provide detailed information about menu items, ingredients, and daily specials to guests.
- Process payments accurately and efficiently, handling cash and credit card transactions with integrity.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including dining rooms, service stations, and storage areas.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, hostesses, and other team members to ensure smooth service flow.
- Address guest inquiries and resolve minor complaints promptly and professionally, escalating complex issues to management.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, as well as hygiene standards for food handling and service.
- Assist with inventory control and restocking of supplies as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a customer service or hospitality role, preferably as waitstaff.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
- Impeccable grooming and professional presentation.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and calculating bills.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and lift trays comfortably.
- A positive attitude and a passion for guest satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience specifically in room service or fine dining.
- Familiarity with POS systems (Point of Sale).
- Knowledge of food and beverage pairing.
- Fluency in an additional local language (e.g., Yoruba, Igbo).
