Key Responsibilities
- Prepare samples and reagents for a variety of laboratory tests and experiments following established protocols.
- Conduct routine laboratory analyses and experiments accurately and efficiently under supervision.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Record and document experimental data, observations, and results meticulously.
- Assist in the interpretation and analysis of experimental data.
- Adhere strictly to all laboratory safety regulations, quality control standards, and good laboratory practices (GLP).
- Perform routine laboratory maintenance, including cleaning glassware and sterilizing equipment.
- Manage laboratory supplies and inventory, placing orders as needed.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report complex problems to senior staff.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to scientific discussions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times.
- Assist senior researchers with experimental setup and data collection as required.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related scientific field.
- Strong foundational knowledge of general laboratory techniques and safety procedures.
- Proficiency in basic data recording and documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently when required.
- Basic computer literacy, especially with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
