Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment manually or using basic machinery.
- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth using hand tools and light equipment.
- Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, masons, electricians, etc.) with various tasks as needed.
- Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris, trash, and hazardous materials.
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Perform general maintenance and upkeep of tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Support the setup and dismantling of temporary structures, scaffolding, and barriers.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth project flow.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment to achieve project goals and deadlines.
Required Skills
- Physical strength and stamina to perform strenuous tasks.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg) and stand for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety protocols.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow verbal instructions accurately.
- Team-oriented attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a construction laborer or in a similar physical role.
- Familiarity with basic construction tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of Portuguese, relevant for communication on-site.
- Completion of basic safety training courses.
