Job Description
Are you a highly energetic and customer-focused individual with a passion for food and service? The Dubai World Trade Centre is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Food Cart Vendor to join our vibrant Food & Beverage team. In this exciting role, you will be the face of our mobile culinary offerings, serving delicious food and refreshing beverages to thousands of visitors during our world-class events, exhibitions, and conferences. You will operate one of our state-of-the-art food carts, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for every customer.
This position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses excellent interpersonal skills, and maintains impeccable standards of hygiene and food safety. Your daily activities will range from setting up and preparing the cart for service, actively engaging with guests to promote menu items, handling cash and card transactions with accuracy, and ensuring the cart is always stocked and immaculately clean. You will play a crucial role in enhancing the visitor experience by providing quick, efficient, and friendly service, contributing directly to the success of our events. Key Responsibilities
- Set up and prepare the food cart before opening, including stocking inventory, checking equipment, and ensuring cleanliness.
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions about menu items, and offer recommendations.
- Efficiently take orders and accurately process cash and electronic payments using a POS system.
- Prepare and serve food and beverages according to established recipes and quality standards, maintaining speed and consistency.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in and around the food cart at all times, adhering to HACCP guidelines.
- Monitor inventory levels, report stock shortages, and assist with receiving and storing supplies.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve minor issues professionally, escalating complex concerns to management.
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of food products to minimize waste.
- Operate all food cart equipment safely and report any malfunctions immediately.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health, safety, and operational standards.
- Break down and clean the food cart at the end of the shift, preparing it for the next day's operation.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Basic mathematical skills for cash handling and transaction processing
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-volume environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 15 kg
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food service, hospitality, or retail environment
- Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene practices (e.g., HACCP certification)
- Ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages (e.g., Arabic, Hindi, Tagalog)
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems
