Career.supersecrets is excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Driver – Logistics & Delivery to join a growing team based in Jabi, Abuja. This pivotal role involves the safe and efficient transportation of goods and personnel, utilizing a company-provided vehicle. As a key member of our logistics operation, you will be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining vehicle integrity, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service. Your day-to-day will involve careful route planning to optimize delivery schedules, meticulous loading and unloading of items, and accurate record-keeping of all logistical activities. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company-provided vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods, documents, and personnel as required.
- Plan and execute delivery routes, considering traffic and time constraints, to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
- Conduct daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, including checking fuel, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes, reporting any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
- Load, unload, and secure items properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage logs, delivery receipts, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously during all interactions with clients, customers, and the public.
- Assist with basic vehicle cleaning and ensure the company vehicle is always presented in a clean and tidy manner.
- Handle sensitive documents and packages with utmost care and confidentiality.
- Communicate effectively with the logistics team regarding delivery status, delays, or any unforeseen challenges.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver’s License (Category B or higher)
- Proven experience as a professional driver in logistics or delivery services
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja road networks and traffic regulations
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and basic troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret maps and GPS navigation systems
- Good physical condition, capable of lifting and moving packages
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- High level of integrity, reliability, and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate (SSCE/GCE/NECO)
- Defensive driving certification
- Experience with courier services or FMCG distribution
- Basic computer literacy for logging and reporting
