Key Responsibilities
- Operate specialized electric tricycles safely and efficiently to deliver mail, parcels, and other assigned cargo within designated urban routes.
- Plan and optimize daily delivery routes using provided navigation tools and personal knowledge of Amsterdam's street network.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tricycle, ensuring its cleanliness, functionality, and adherence to safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo carefully, ensuring all items are secured, accounted for, and handled with care to prevent damage.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers, addressing inquiries, providing exceptional service, and resolving minor delivery issues on the spot.
- Process deliveries accurately, including obtaining necessary signatures, scanning packages, and updating delivery status via handheld devices in real-time.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations at all times to ensure the safety of yourself, pedestrians, and other road users.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, delays, or security concerns to the dispatcher or supervisor promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, vehicle maintenance checks, and any other relevant operational data.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by assisting colleagues and participating in regular team meetings and training sessions.
Required Skills
- Valid Dutch driver's license (B category, or appropriate for electric tricycles/light motorized vehicles) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience (minimum 1 year) in driving, preferably in a delivery or logistics capacity within urban environments.
- Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with the Amsterdam metropolitan area, including knowledge of shortcuts and traffic patterns.
- Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and an unwavering commitment to safety and timely delivery.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good physical condition, capable of lifting and moving packages up to 20kg repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Proficiency in Dutch or English (both written and verbal) for clear communication with colleagues, customers, and dispatch.
- Customer-focused attitude with a friendly and professional demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience operating electric vehicles, specialized cargo tricycles, or similar last-mile delivery vehicles.
- In-depth knowledge of local traffic regulations and sustainable transport practices within the Netherlands.
- Previous customer service experience in a delivery or public-facing role.
- Flexible availability to work various shifts, including occasional evenings and weekends, to meet operational demands.
