Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests on patient samples (blood, urine, other body fluids) following established protocols and procedures.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and accurate results.
- Prepare specimens for analysis, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and storage according to regulatory guidelines.
- Accurately record, report, and document test results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and other required formats.
- Adhere strictly to quality control standards, participate in proficiency testing, and identify/resolve any discrepancies.
- Follow all safety protocols, universal precautions, and waste disposal procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Troubleshoot basic technical problems related to instrumentation or testing processes under supervision.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Communicate effectively with senior technicians, laboratory supervisors, and other healthcare professionals regarding test results, specimen issues, or procedural questions.
- Participate in ongoing training and educational opportunities to expand knowledge and maintain competency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient laboratory workspace.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of or current enrollment in an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program.
- Basic theoretical knowledge of laboratory principles, techniques, and medical terminology.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks and documenting results.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to follow complex written and verbal instructions precisely.
- Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) software.
