Key Responsibilities
- Prepare biological samples (e.g., blood, urine, tissue) for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Perform routine and basic laboratory tests and analyses under the direct supervision of certified Medical Technologists or supervisors.
- Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments according to established protocols.
- Document and maintain accurate records of test results, procedures, and quality control activities.
- Adhere strictly to all laboratory safety regulations, quality control standards, and HIPAA guidelines.
- Assist with inventory management, including stocking supplies and ensuring the availability of necessary reagents and consumables.
- Monitor specimen integrity and reject specimens that do not meet acceptance criteria, documenting reasons for rejection.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding test results, equipment issues, or any deviations from standard procedures.
