Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company-provided vans for the pickup and delivery of goods across the Boston metropolitan area.
- Follow pre-scheduled routes and delivery timelines, making adjustments as necessary for traffic or unforeseen conditions.
- Load and unload packages efficiently and safely, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance needs or issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and manifest documentation using handheld devices or paper forms.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and internal staff regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws and regulations, as well as company safety policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, representing Career.supersecrets professionally.
- Manage time effectively to complete all deliveries within specified windows.
- Keep the vehicle clean and organized.
Required Skills
- Valid Massachusetts Class D Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a commercial driver or delivery driver.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Strong knowledge of Boston and surrounding area roadways.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate GPS and navigation applications effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail for package handling and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience with route optimization software.
- Familiarity with various types of delivery vehicles (cargo vans, sprinter vans).
