Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport company personnel, clients, goods, and materials to various destinations as assigned.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
- Maintain the assigned company vehicle in a clean, presentable, and excellent working condition, performing daily checks (oil, water, brakes, tires, etc.).
- Report any mechanical issues, accidents, or incidents immediately to the supervisor.
- Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
- Assist with loading and unloading of goods as needed, ensuring secure transit.
- Plan efficient routes to minimize travel time and fuel consumption.
- Ensure timely delivery and pick-up schedules are met.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and professional conduct when interacting with passengers and clients.
- Carry out other transport-related duties as requested by management.
Required Skills
- Valid Kenyan driving license (Class B, C, E – or equivalent relevant class for commercial driving).
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable professional driving experience.
- Excellent knowledge of Kikuyu and surrounding Nairobi metropolitan area roads and traffic regulations.
- Demonstrated safe driving record with no major accidents or traffic offenses.
- Strong mechanical aptitude for basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Swahili.
- High degree of reliability, punctuality, and responsibility.
- Physical fitness to assist with loading/unloading and prolonged driving periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Defensive driving certificate.
- Certificate of good conduct (valid within the last 6 months).
- Experience driving commercial vans or light trucks.
- First Aid certification.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and mobile mapping applications.
