Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide exceptional customer service, taking beverage orders promptly and accurately.
- Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, mocktails, wines, beers, and spirits, adhering to recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area, ensuring all glassware, tools, and ingredients are readily available.
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately, managing a till and processing payments.
- Monitor guest consumption to prevent over-serving and ensure responsible service of alcohol.
- Check identification of guests to verify legal drinking age.
- Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, recommending beverages and upselling where appropriate.
- Assist with inventory management, including stocking, rotating, and ordering bar supplies.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including proper waste disposal and sanitation of equipment.
- Collaborate with lounge staff and kitchen team to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Attend regular training sessions to stay updated on new products, techniques, and service standards.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 18 months of experience as a Bar Attendant, preferably in a hotel or upscale lounge environment.
- Proficiency in preparing a wide range of classic and contemporary cocktails.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of spirits, wines, beers, and mixology techniques.
- Basic math skills and experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
- High level of integrity and a professional demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in mixology or bartending.
- Previous experience working in a 4- or 5-star hotel lounge.
- Knowledge of local and international beverage trends.
- Fluency in additional languages beyond English (e.g., French, Yoruba).
