Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive virtual patient assessments, including history taking, physical exams (via telehealth tools), and psychosocial evaluations.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic conditions within the scope of practice.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests (e.g., lab work, imaging) to formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and other treatments in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention.
- Provide patient education on health conditions, medications, lifestyle modifications, and self-management strategies.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough electronic health records (EHR) for all patient encounters.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including physicians, specialists, and support staff.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to maintain professional competency and licensure.
- Ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Required Skills
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Texas.
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MSN/DNP) from an accredited program.
- Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP), or similar primary care specialty.
- Minimum 3 years of post-licensure clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong active listening abilities.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a diverse patient caseload effectively.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
- Comfortable with technology and able to troubleshoot basic technical issues.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and empathy for diverse patient populations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a telehealth or remote patient care setting.
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a significant asset, given the El Paso location.
- Experience with chronic disease management and preventive care.
- DEA registration and prescriptive authority in Texas.
- Additional certifications in specialized areas relevant to primary or urgent care.
