Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial assessments to evaluate clients' mental health needs, histories, and presenting concerns.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, focusing on achievable goals.
- Provide individual and/or group counseling sessions using various therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, person-centered).
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely client records and progress notes in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Participate in regular clinical supervision, case conferences, and team meetings to discuss client progress and enhance clinical skills.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and community resources to ensure holistic client care.
- Stay informed of best practices, new research, and developments in the mental health field through ongoing education and training.
- Adhere to all professional ethical guidelines and state licensing regulations.
- Engage in professional development activities to continuously improve counseling competencies.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related mental health field.
- Eligibility for state licensure as a counselor (e.g., LMHC-A, LCSW-A) in Indiana.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and active listening abilities.
- Basic understanding of mental health diagnoses, treatment modalities, and ethical guidelines.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and cultural backgrounds.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for documentation and communication.
- A commitment to client confidentiality and ethical practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a supervised practicum or internship setting.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
