We are looking for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for the entire laundry cycle, from sorting soiled items to operating industrial washing and drying equipment, and finally, folding and distributing freshly laundered linen. Key Responsibilities
- Sort all soiled laundry items (linens, towels, uniforms) according to fabric type, color, and degree of soiling.
- Operate and monitor commercial washing machines, dryers, and ironers, ensuring correct cycles and temperatures are used.
- Inspect laundered items for cleanliness, stains, or damage, and re-wash or report as necessary.
- Fold, stack, and organize clean linens and towels efficiently for storage and distribution to various hotel departments.
- Maintain inventory of laundry supplies and report needs to the supervisor.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of laundry equipment and the laundry area.
- Adhere to all hotel safety, hygiene, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Assist with other hotel duties as required, especially during peak periods.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy laundry bags (up to 25kg).
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for cleanliness and quality.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to understand work instructions and manage inventory.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping department, preferably within a hotel setting.
- Familiarity with operating industrial laundry equipment.
- Understanding of different fabric types and appropriate washing methods.
